POLICE are set to carry out patrols in the Dunbar and Tyninghame areas following complaints about speeding.

On Wednesday, officers attended a public meeting at Tyninghame Village Hall to discuss community concerns.

These included speeding vehicles, specifically motorbikes, on the A198 and A199.

Later that evening, a 65-year-old male driver was issued with a fixed penalty ticket for speeding in Dunbar.

A 20-year-old male driver was issued with a fixed penalty ticket and an anti-social behaviour warning in Whitekirk.

Community Sergeant Scott Nicolson said: "Following the public meeting, we’ve been able to focus our efforts on deterring and detecting dangerous driver behaviour in the areas highlighted to us.

"We also received a number of calls from concerned residents as a result, and I want to reassure the community that we’ll act on all the information we receive.”

High visibility patrols will continue to be conducted on roads in the local area and anyone with concerns is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
