RAIL commuters in East Lothian are facing travel chaos today (Tuesday) as rail strikes are set to go ahead.
All ScotRail services between Edinburgh and North Berwick and Edinburgh and Dunbar will be cancelled, after conductors voted to take action over proposals to downgrade their role.
A statement on ScotRail's website confirms there will be no replacement transport for the East Lothian services affected.
It reads: "There will be no replacement buses for those services."
Other parts of Scotland face the same fate, while the Edinburgh-Glasgow line and services to Tweedbank and Fife will also be reduced tomorrow.
The dispute is over proposals to change conductors’ duties aboard a new fleet of electric trains being introduced across the Central Belt from next year.
Further strike action is set for Thursday and the weekend.
