A LARGE number of roads in the west of East Lothian will be closed as the Edinburgh Marathon takes place on Sunday.

In Musselburgh, Promenade, Links View, Goose Green Crescent and the entrance to New Street will be closed from 5am on Sunday until 1.30pm. Balcarres Road will also close at 5am and reopen at 2.30pm. Millhill will close between Balcarres and Linkfield Road from 5am until 6pm and Linkfield Road will close from the same time until 6.30pm.

Entrance to Links Avenue and Links Street will be closed from 5am on Sunday until 1.30pm and Downie Place, Ladywell, Eskdale Mews and Mountjoy Terrace and Mountjoy Court will be closed entirely during the same time, as well as Eskside East, entrance to Eskside West, James Street, Goose Green Road, Goose Green Avenue and Goose Green Place.

Entrance to High Street will be closed 5am-6.30pm. Beulah, Linkfield Court and Windsor Gardens will also close completely between the same time.

Entrance to Ashgrove, Pinkie Road Service Road, Pinkie Terrace, Edenhall Road, Park Lane, Rothesay Place, Grove Street and Lower Pinkie Road will be closed until 6.30pm, with Craighall Terrace closed entirely and resident and public service vehicles access only to Macbeth Moir Road, King Street Wanless Court, Battlefield Drive and Almond Park, 5am-6.30pm on Sunday.

Parking restrictions will apply from 10pm on Saturday night until 2.30pm on Sunday on New Street, Promenade, Links View, Goose Green Crescent, and Balcarres Road. They will extend to 6.30pm on Millhill, Newbigging, Pinkie Road, Inveresk Brae, High Street, Linkfield Road, South side Lower Pinkie Road, A199, Salters Road, Inchview Road, Miners Terrace, Wemyss Gardens, unnamed road between 23 and 24 Salters Road, and Inveresk Village Road.

Heading east out of Musselburgh there will be road closures between 5am and 6.30pm on Sunday at Ravensheugh Road, B1348 at Prestongrange, Hope Place, Mayville Bank, entrance to Drum-Mohr and Managers Brae.

Parking restrictions will be in place from 10pm Saturday until 6.30pm on Sunday at Ravensheugh Road, Wallyford park/ride, Haddington Road from B1348 roundabout on A199 to B1361 roundabout and B1348 at Prestongrange.

In Prestonpans High Street, B1348 at the former power station, will be closed from 5am on Sunday until 6pm and there will be no parking in High Street, from 10pm on Saturday until 6.30pm on Sunday.

Entrances into Prestongrange Road, Inchview North, The Pottery, and Redburn Road North, New Street, Ayres Wynd, Harlaw Hill, Pypers Wynd, Robertson Avenue, Fowlers Avenue and Appin Drive, from High Street will be closed between 5am and 6pm.

During the same time Cookie’s Wynd, Ormiston Place, West Seaside , East Seaside, Salt Preston Place, Sir Walter Scott Pend, and the boat enclosure road will be closed.

In Cockenzie and Port Seton the EdinburghRoad eastbound from East Lorimor Place to Gosford Road will close from 5am until 5pm.

Also shut at the same time will be Cockenzie High Street, Elcho Place, Wemyss Place, Viewforth, and Seton Place. Links Road between Seton Place and the holiday part will also close eastbound.

Between 5am and 6pm entrance to Whin Park Industrial Estate, West Lorimer Place, West Harbour Road, East Lorimer Place Lane, East Lorimer Place, Park Road, and Fishers Road will close.

Between 5am and 5pm Barga Court, Marshall Street, South Doors, School Lane, New Street, Hares Close, Gardiner’s Close, Kay Gardens, Manse Lane, Cope Lane will be closed along with Barracks Street.

Entrances to The promenade, Links Court, Castle Terrace and Long Craigs will also close during that time.

Parking restrictions will be introduced between 10pm on Saturday until 6.30pm on Sunday at North Lorimer Place, Cockenzie High Street, East Lorimer Place (east side), Avenue Road, Gosford Road (north side), Elcho Place, Wemyss place, Viewforth, Seton place, Links Road from Seton Place to Seton sands, Long Craigs, Fishers Road and Alder Road.

Heading east the B1348 coast road from Seton Sands to Lyars Road will be closed from 5am to 5pm along with Dean Road and Lyars Road, north of its junction with Gosford.

The A198 will be closed fromGosford to Green Craig.

Parking restriction will be in place from 10pm on Saturday night until 6.30pm on Sunday on the B1348, Dean Road, Gosford Road, Longniddry and A198 to Green Craig, the A6137 (Haddington Place) and High Street, Aberlady.
