THE Forth Ferry, linking East Lothian with Fife, returned with its first sailing of the year from North Berwick last Saturday, May 14.

There was an impressive turnout for the first crossing, between North Berwick and the Fife town of Anstruther.

The ferry was first introduced last year and, due to its popularity, has returned once more this summer, run by Seafari Adventures in partnership with the Scottish Seabird Centre.

Colin Aston, managing director at Seafari Adventures, was delighted with the start to the season.

He told the Courier: “We had a fantastic start to the Forth Ferry season, with our first crossing.

"I was delighted with the way the vessel happily maintained her cruising speed through the long, lazy, easterly swell which dropped away before we did the return trips.

"We had lots of positive comments from our passengers, including one North Berwick resident who asked about a season ticket so she could visit her daughter in Anstruther more often. Ideas like this are very welcome.”
