THREE people have been charged and another arrested following a day of action by police in East Lothian.

Yesterday (Wednesday) Police Scotland's East Lothian Community Action Team executed a search warrant on Moir Avenue, Musselburgh.

Officers seized various drug paraphernalia and a 34-year-old woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A short time later, a man was seen acting suspiciously in the area and police recovered a small amount of cannabis.

A 35-year-old man was charged and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Later that evening, police arrested a 68-year-old man in the West Barns area on an outstanding warrant. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thursday).

Whilst on patrol on the A1, a vehicle was seen to be driving erratically.

A 31-year-old man was subsequently charged in connection with cannabis possession and road traffic offences, and will also be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant John Forrester, of the East Lothian Community Action Team, said: "The team are deployed to tackle the issues that our communities have told us are most important to them, such as drug crime and antisocial behaviour.
