A PRESTONPANS man is facing a prison term after admitting to supplying Class A drugs.

William Haston, 46, was caught with cocaine with a street value of £10,000 at a home in Musselburgh last year.

Haston, of McGregor Pend, was also found to have items involved in drug supply such as scales when police searched the Moir Terrace home.

Fiscal depute Brian Robertson told Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday that police had been tipped off and a search warrant was subsequently executed.

Mr Robertson said: “The police searched the bedroom of the accused and found a draw string bag and within the bag they found the drugs libelled.”

Mr Robertson said if the drugs were cut up into smaller deals the drug find would yield around £10,000.

The fiscal added that a second bag was found containing a smaller amount of the drug, though the scales discovered by officers were found to have “traces of drugs on it”.

Solicitor Mr Soutar saved his mitigation for the sentencing diet, which will be held on May 19.

Sheriff Thomas Welsh QC decided to have reports prepared before he issues a sentence.

Haston pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine to others at an address at Moir Terrace, Musselburgh, on August 28 last year.
