A SHOELESS man found dead near water treatment works in Haddington is from East Lothian.
Mystery still surrounds the death of the unnamed man, who was found by a dogwalker early yesterday morning.
However the Courier can confirm he is local to the county, although police are still awaiting a formal identification.
Results of a post mortem are expected to be passed to officers investigating the case later today.
The man was discovered without shoes and with a jumper pulled over his head at around 6am yesterday at the works, which lie next to Haddington Golf Club and Amisfield Walled Gardens.
A police spokesperson said more details about the death may be identified during the post mortem and appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
He said: "The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending further inquiries."
