PREPARATIONS are well under way for this year’s Macmerry Gala as it prepares to celebrate its 67th year.

This year’s gala will be held on Saturday, June 18, with the crowning of this year’s queen, Nya Robertson, taking place in the park at about 1pm.

And ahead of the big day, the gala court are already in rehearsals, which take place each week at Macmerry Miners Club.

The gala day itself will include fun and games for all ages to enjoy, as well as stalls in the park.

One of the highlights of the event is the parade, which will be judged at 5pm, and leave from outside Pizza Den takeaway half an hour later.
