PLANS to turn the former Johnnie Cope pub into a convenience store have been lodged with East Lothian Council.
The former pub, on Hawthorn Road, Prestonpans, owned by former Hibs footballer Pat Kane, closed several years ago and has been used for a number of different purposes, including a dance studio.
Mr Kane was given permission two years ago to turn the bar into a day-time cafe which aimed to cater for local schoolchildren and an evening bistro for families.
Now he has applied for planning permission to change the use of the ground floor of the building from a pub to a shop.
The application is under consideration by East Lothian Council planners.
