TWO centenarians are showing their younger clubmates how it is done by outclassing them at Scrabble.
Bella Marr (100) and Janet Skea (102) are leading the way at Gifford’s Good Companions club when it comes to the popular board game.
The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 2pm until 4pm in the village’s bowling and sports club, on Station Road.
Bella told the Courier she enjoyed Good Companions and added: “It’s very good and everybody is very nice.We have a blether and a cuppa.”
Jane Steven, chairwoman of the group, which was set up eight years ago, said: “They come and play dominoes or Scrabble.
“Bella and Janet play Scrabble and as I say they beat most of us. It is just amazing.”
The club is for older and disabled people and people who live on their own.
Members meet and either socialise, play dominoes, Scrabble, whist or Jenga, while enjoying a chat with homemade cakes, biscuits and tea.
