THE public are being asked to help find a 15-year-old who has been missing from her home in Tranent for nearly a week.
There have been no confirmed sightings of Nikita Ryan since about 10pm on Saturday, January 30, when it is believed she travelled by bus from Tranent to Edinburgh.
Nikita knows Edinburgh well, particularly the south east of the city, where she has a number of friends.
Anyone who has seen Nikita or has information on her whereabouts is asked to come forward immediately.
She is described as 5ft 2ins tall, slim build with long auburn-coloured hair that is normally worn down. At the time of her going missing she was wearing a black leather jacket with a fur collar, denim jeans and tan coloured Ugg boots.
Inspector Neil Mitchell, who is based in Dalkeith, said: "We're carrying out various lines of inquiry in an effort to trace Nikita safe and well.
"Today, I ask anyone who has seen Nikita to please contact police immediately.
"I also appeal to Nikita directly to make contact to let us know that you are safe and well."
Those with information should contact police on 101 or speak to any police officer.
