CANNABIS worth up to £17,000 has been seized from a house in Tranent.
Officers executed a search warrant at a property on the town's Northfield on Tuesday.
Inspector Andy Harborow of Police Scotland said: “They seized 23 mature cannabis plants, with a maximum estimated street value of £17,000, from within.
"A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with this seizure.
"I'd urge anyone with concerns about drug misuse in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101 or make an anonymous report through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“Be assured that we will always act on the information we receive to keep our communities safe from drugs and associated crime."
