A CHARITY founder and church worker are among East Lothian residents to feature in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.
Laura Young, of Gullane, who co-founded The Teapot Trust, helping children with chronic conditions, has been awarded an MBE.
She is joined by Diane Watt, Dunbar, who receives an MBE for her work with the Children’s Hearings System in Mid and East Lothian.
The honours list, which was announced last night, also has several local residents receiving a BEM.
Richard Hadden, Beadle, St Michael’s Church, Inveresk, receives his BEM for services to the community as does Mrs Christian Lindsay, from East Linton.
The founder of Stenton Singers Choir, Lynda Jeffrey, receives a BEM for services to music and charity and Christine Black, the badminton development officer at East Lothian Council, has been awarded a BEM for services to the sport.
