EAST Lothian’s first McDonald’s restaurant has officially opened its doors to the public.
The fast-food restaurant opened last Wednesday morning and Councillor Norman Hampshire, Dunbar and East Linton ward, is among the hundreds who have visited the restaurant on Dunbar’s Spott Road in its first week.
More than 80 jobs have been created, with the restaurant also boasting self-order kiosks, where customers can electronically browse the full menu before making a selection, paying by card and then going to a designated counter to pick up their meal.
All staff will have access to McDonald’s-recognised accredited qualifications, such as the McDonald’s Level 2 apprenticeship in catering and hospitality, and the foundation degree in managing business operations.
