A MAN has been arrested and charged following a break-in to a supermarket in Musselburgh.
Police responded to the Lidl store on Newhailes Road at about 2.20am today (Tuesday) after being alerted to a security alarm activation within the premises.
Police quickly detained a 35-year-old man nearby and he was subsequently charged with housebreaking.
He will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, where he is also charged with the theft of a bicycle from outside the Tesco supermarket in Musselburgh the previous evening.
