YOUNGSTERS took part in a pizza workshop at the town’s new Asda store.
The children, from Tranent Wraparound Care at Sanderson’s Wynd Primary, were tasked with designing their favourite pizza on a poster.
And they chose their winning design, which they made a reality with the help of staff at the store’s pizza counter.
Workers at the pizza counter gave the pupils a masterclass in pizza making, teaching them everything from kneading the dough to preparing the toppings.
Asda Tranent also made a donation, of £100, to the school to help them fund Christmas activities for the pupils.
Hamish Innes, the store’s community life champion, said: “The kids had a great time and definitely got a 'pizza' the action by really making use of our fresh ingredients to create some delicious pizzas that were a huge hit!”
Teresa Valentine, senior care assistant at Sanderson’s Wynd Primary School, added: “The children loved getting to design their own special pizza and it shows that there are fun ways of getting healthy vegetables into a diet."
