THE Courier is once again sponsoring a category in the East Lothian Council Star Awards this year and we want to hear about your local heroes.
The annual awards recognise council employees who have made an exceptional contribution to the work of the local authority or to community life.
They are open to either individuals or teams from any part of the council working in the front line or service delivery or working behind the scenes to support others.
In the past they have included a community warden , members of the Landscape and Countryside team and a teacher who inspired others to help support a school in Malawi.
Th Courier award is a chance for our readers to say thank you or help recognise some from the local authority who has helped make a difference in their life or gone above and beyond they call of duty.
We want you to nominate an East Lothian Council worker or team who you think has gone the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service.
Have you had to contact the council for anything and been delighted with the service you received? Has work been done in your home or town or village by the council that you’ve really appreciated? Are you part of a community group that has worked with the council and been really pleased with the difference the partnership working has made?
These are just some examples of how you might have directly experienced council services. We want you to tell us what’s really meant something to you so that the people providing that service can be recognised for the work that they do.
So who are the stars in your eyes?
To nominate your hero or heroes, you can use the form which will be in this week's Courier, write to The Editor, East Lothian Courier, 56 Court Street, Haddington EH41 3AF or email your nomination to editorial@eastlothiancourier.com.

Make sure to include your name, address and daytime telephone number and the reason why you are nominating the person you name. Entries should be in by Tuesday, October 20. The awards ceremony will be held in Thursday, November 12.
