POLICE hunting missing Tranent man Andrew Gordon today confirmed a body has been found.
The body of a male was discovered at Erbusaig near Kyle of Lochalsh, across from the Isle of Skye, shortly after 12noon.
Mr Gordon, 54, went missing after going for a swim near the Skye Bridge on the island on Sunday morning.
Police, rescue organisations and local volunteers have all been involved in the search for Mr Gordon who was in Skye with his partner Angela at the weekend to take part in the Shoot the Goose motorcycle rally.
He was last seen heading for a swim at around 8.45am on Sunday. The alarm was raised when he failed to return a few hours later.
This afternoon Police Scotland said they could confirm the body of a man had been recovered but stressed no formal identification had been made.
A spokesperson said: "Formal identification is yet to take place, however the family of Andrew Gordon have been informed."
