THE search for a Tranent man who vanished after apparently going for a swim off the Isle of Skye has resumed.
Andrew Gordon, 54, is thought by police to have gone for a swim near the Skye Bridge on Sunday morning.
He was reported missing by members of his family after failing to return and a search of air, land and sea was launched but forced to stand down as the weather deteriorated yesterday evening.
The search resumed this morning (Monday) with Stornoway Coastguard, police dog units and the Search and Rescue Dogs Association taking part.
Mr Gordon is described as being 6ft tall, of muscular build, with short shaved brown hair and a beard.
He was last seen wearing grey combat-style trousers and a “Guns & Roses” hooded top.
