Police have arrested and charged two people in connection with a break-in at a business in Musselburgh that was reported during the early hours of Thursday (September 17).
Officers were called to an address on North High Street in Musselburgh at around 3am after a number of items including cigarettes were stolen.
A male and female, both 36 years old, were quickly traced by local officers and appeared in Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.
Detective Inspector Stevie Bertram of Police Scotland said: "Following an extensive police inquiry two people have been traced and arrested in connection with a housebreaking in Musselburgh.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the local community who assisted with our investigation.
"Police Scotland will continue to target anyone who is involved in housebreaking and members of the public with information relating to ongoing criminal activity in their local area can contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
