Paying for a postcode: a house-buyer's guide

But, it should be noted that property prices vary greatly according to postcode.

The first location-related question is typically: city or suburb? Of course, many young, single professionals favour city flats while many families opt for larger homes and complete with gardens.

Should you want to live in the city or the suburbs, many distinct opportunities exist and a search of your location on estate agent listings or online can reveal surprising differences.

With renewed security in the market, buyer confidence has returned, encouraging those wishing to move up the property ladder, or those setting out on their madden real estate venture, to make the next step.

The situation many buy-to-let investors found themselves in became more precarious as banks and other financial institutions were forced to tighten lending conditions. Some developers collapsed while, in some cases, administrators came in to restore money for creditors.

Some commentators have said that buy-to-let investors are getting stricter treatment than their private buying counterparts as there are some developers that are seeking legal president requiring these customers to keep to the contract and buy the property.

Whilst confidence in the market is returning, lingering doubts remain, but so too do new developments and bargains, for those still searching.

This is the best time in years to be looking to buy real estate, as the economy continues to grow with steadfast reassurance.

When you are looking around for your new home, bear in mind the differences in house prices by postcode which, in real terms, is most apparent when you compare urban properties with their suburban neighbours.

Presently choice is at an optimum, considering the many housing options available, and the increased mobility of the workforce, people in general need to know as much as possible regarding all of the impacting factors affecting property prices by postcode.
