Juniors round-up

The draw for the second round of the Scottish Junior Cup takes place at Shotts on Sunday, with at least two county clubs in the hat.

Tranent Juniors came out on top by the odd goal in five in their first round tie at Glasgow Perthshire last Saturday.

They will be joined in the draw by Haddington Athletic who received a bye.

Musselburgh Athletic fell at the first hurdle after a frustrating afternoon at Olive Bank, drawing a blank as they spurned numerous chances while Bo’ness United found the net twice.

Dunbar United’s tie at Dalry fell victim of the bad weather that mainly affected the west of the country. The game is rescheduled for tomorrow (Saturday).

The only game in the county this weekend is at Millfield, where Haddington take on Harthill Royal. The Hi Hi will be looking to hang on to their newly-won position at the top of the South Division table. They leapfrogged opponents Dalkeith Thistle with a 3-1 victory last Saturday.

Tranent travel to Sauchie, which is a venue where they’ve enjoyed success over the past few seasons.

In the Premier League. Musselburgh visit Newtongrange Star.
