Musselburgh Athletic 5 v 2 Haddington Athletic, Haddington Athletic 1 v 3 Penicuik Athletic, Haddington Athletic 3 v 5 Newtongrange Star

The Hi Hi went into their final sectional match against Arniston Rangers in midweek needing to avoid defeat to prevent a League Cup whitewash.

Having gone down in their first two games against South Division rivals Dunbar and Tranent without scoring, George Bowmaker"s side lost 5-2 at Musselburgh last Wednesday.

The result was a shade harsh on Haddington but defensive mistakes ultimately cost them the chance of a point.

Cameron opened the scoring for a Penicuik side who looked superior in most respects during the first half on Saturday.

They added a second after 37 minutes when Jones capitalised on defensive uncertainty.

It looked as if another heavy defeat was on the cards for Haddington, but Ross Ferguson headed home on 50 minutes.

Another unforced error gave Penicuik the points with quarter of an hour left - the prolific Cameron scoring.

Spectators at Millfield on Monday evening witnessed eight goals in an exciting match.

But with young keeper Stobie having to come to his side"s rescue with several tremendous saves, Hi Hi management team will have been alarmed at the loss of another five goals.
