Seasiders sunk in eight goal thriller
Sauchie Juniors 8 v Dunbar United 1
It looked for much of this year’s league campaign as if Dunbar could secure a place in the top half of the South Division.
Sadly for Seasiders’ fans, such optimism now seems a distant memory after a run of one win in seven matches.
The club is also facing up to harsh financial realities off the park.
This was game to forget for Dunbar and was an uphill task from the 12th minute when Sauchie took the lead. Two further goals in the first half and five in the second left the visitors eight behind.
It was, therefore, a slight consolation for Dunbar when Colin McDonald’s late counter was the best goal of the afternoon – a lob over the keeper from all of 40 yards.
The club’s agm is scheduled for Hallhill on Thursday evening and all parties with an interest in the club should attend.
