The South Division title race could still have more twists and turns before its conclusion, after Haddington Athletic sub Alex Finlayson scored the only goal of the game last Saturday away at leaders Fauldhouse United.
The county’s other South Division outfits however have not fared so well recently. Tranent Juniors now look to next season after their final league game saw them beaten 3-1 at home by Broxburn Athletic after a plucky performance. It was a bad day for supporters of Dunbar United, though, as they struggled to field a team in an 8-1 thrashing at Sauchie.
In the Premier League, Musselburgh Athletic wound up their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Arniston Rangers at Olive Bank.
Tomorrow (Saturday) sees Burgh in the capital to face Edinburgh United in a re-arranged St Michaels Cup tie. Dunbar’s league campaign ends with a visit from Pumpherston Juniors.
