HUNDREDS of county rugby fans will converge on Murrayfield tomorrow (Saturday), hoping to see Preston Lodge lift the SHE Bowl.

The match against Lanarkshire side Dalziel is one of four on Finals Day at the national stadium and kicks off at 12.15pm.

Preston Lodge have had to increase their allocation of tickets due to the demand of fans across the county and beyond eager to see the match.

Club captain David Scott said: “We have had a tremendous response from everybody.

“We are finding it hard to keep up with the demand for tickets.”

The squad continued their preparations for the final with a high intensity training session last weekend.

After some difficult decisions, coach Gareth Davies named his full 22 man squad with two reserves, who were all passed fit by physio Sian Brotherston.

One player who will be missing from the match, but has been a big part of the club’s success this season, is Australian back-row, Clint Duyatt, who returned home earlier in the season.

As part of their preparation for the match, the team will leave Prestonpans early on Saturday morning and head for a hotel in the Murrayfield area.

They will have a light lunch there, followed by an initial team talk away from the excitement that will be mounting around Murrayfield.

The match itself will take place between two closely matched sides.

Both Preston Lodge and Dalziel played in National League Division One this season and ended up level on 47 points, with PL just ahead on points differential.

In the head-to-heads between the two sides, both won their home fixtures.

Preston Lodge have taken 500 tickets for the match and four supporters’ buses will be leaving The Pennypit at 10.15am.

Spaces on the buses must be pre-booked and match tickets can also be booked by calling 01875 818012.
