Tranent held to draw
Tranent earned a creditable draw in this South Division match at Foresters Park last Saturday.
On four minutes, Steven Devine’s cross had United ‘keeper Hunter worried enough to palm the ball into the path of Steven Tait, whose shot whizzed just past the post.
Over the remainder of the first half the visitors had slightly the better of things but Cunningham’s excellent performance in the Tranent goal ensured a clean sheet at the interval.
Murray had Tranent’s first real chance of the second half on 55 minutes, but his shot was blocked by a visiting defender.
Tait then blasted high and wide from a decent position, but otherwise it was Blackburn who had most of the chances.
But Cunningham was on top form and was equal to whatever came his way. He frustrated the visitors on a number of occasions as they looked certain to break the deadlock.
