Juniors round-up
MAINSTAYS in the Superleague since it began in 2002, Bathgate Thistle and Linlithgow Rose both visited East Lothian on cup duty last Saturday and recorded comfortable cup victories against Dunbar United and Haddington Athletic respectively.
After valiant first half showings from the two county South Division outfits, Dunbar eventually went down to the Scottish Junior Cup finalists 5-0 while the Hi Hi crashed 4-1.
On league business, Musselburgh Athletic enjoyed a good 3-1 win away to Kinnoull, while Tranent Juniors earned a point from a goalless draw against Blackburn United at Foresters Park.
Only Musselburgh and Haddington had midweek fixtures that were still to be played at the time of going to press.
However, all four local clubs are in action tomorrow (Saturday).
Musselburgh entertain Dundee North End in the Premier League, and Tranent have their penultimate fixture of the season at home to West Calder United.
In West Lothian, there are two important South Division games. In their bid for the title, Haddington face Blackburn United and hope that Dunbar take something from their trip to nearby Fauldhouse United.
