Beaten finalist from two years ago, James Hogg, is again making a strong challenge for the East Lothian IBC singles championship.

The title has been held for the past two seasons by reigning Scottish kingpin Scott Kennedy.

Hogg is through to his second final in three years having produced more than a few flashes of brilliance in his 18-11 triumph over premier league colleague Stuart Wyllie.

In the top half of the draw, Jim Pringle has qualified for the last four. He awaits the outcome of the match between hat-trick seeking title holder Scott Kennedy and Peter Fallen.

Fallen booked his place in the last eight with an impressive 21-10 win over Stevie Clark.

The ladies version of the singles championship is down to the last four stage.

Norma Bauld is the only previous champion still in contention for the title.

Bauld etched her name on the trophy in 2001 and she steps up her bid to land a title double against junior internationalist Emma Brown in the semi-final.
