Tasty accolade for restaurant

A POPULAR Musselburgh eatery is mixing it with the creme de la creme of British cuisine after shooting into a list of top UK restaurants.

The Glasshouse at Eskmills is one of only eight Scottish restaurants to make the list of ‘Best of the Best 100 UK restaurants’ compiled by Eat Out Magazine.

It clinched 98th position.

TV chef and restaurateur, Gordon Ramsay, bagged top spot in the magazine list.

The Glasshouse head chef and owner, Steve Adair, who opened the restaurant in 2006 after stints in Gleneagles, The Witchery and The Tower, said: “We’re proud to have put Musselburgh on the foodie-map. This listing is a real achievement as we join an exclusive list of the best restaurants in the UK.

“It confirms that we are punching well above our weight producing an excellent standard of food from locally sourced suppliers.”

In the past year the Eskmills restaurant has won interior design awards, customer service awards and the Remy Martin Restaurant Award 2008 for outstanding levels of excellence.
