YOUTH football coach Kevin Bathgate is tackling Sunday’s Edinburgh Marathon in aid of The Anthony Nolan Trust.

Father-of-three Kevin, 36, is secretary of Tranent Colts, where he’s a level 3 SFA-accredited coach. A member of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow register, he’s awaiting results of final tests to determine whether he can be a bone marrow donor.

He said: “After the generous donations received for my previous two marathons and raising over £2,000 for Maggie’s Cancer Care and CLIC Sargent, I am hopeful I can raise another good sum of sponsorship for another great charity.”

Kevin, whose wife and kids will be at the finish line at Musselburgh Racecourse, is hopeful of beating his 2007 race time of four hours, 18 minutes. To sponsor him, log on to: www.justgiving.com/kevsmarathon2008
