Safety fear over baby’s cot
Organisers of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) nearly new sale held on May 3 in Haddington Corn Exchange are anxious to hear from the person who bought an incomplete cot.
A metre-long metal sidebar which allows the front of the Mamas and Papas pine cot to drop down was not taken away by the unidentified purchaser.
Gillian Greenshields, Haddington area contact for the NCT, said: “We think the person who bought the cot may have done so for future use and may not yet realise there is a part missing.
“It would be difficult to make the cot work without the metal sidebar, but we need to contact the buyer to make sure there is no potential danger to any baby.”
The cot, which cost £45, was one of a handful of second-hand cots bought that day.
The buyer should contact Mrs Greenshields on 01620 829838 so that delivery of the missing section can be arranged.
