Catching countryside speeders
SPEEDING drivers on the county’s rural roads could soon be caught on camera and brought to book.
At Tuesday’s cabinet meeting it will be suggested that the county signs up to the Lothian and Borders Safety Camera Partnership.
East Lothian has so far failed to meet the group’s strict criteria on camera sites.
However, the rules appear to be changing, with the prospect of using mobile cameras at “sites of concern” – amid recent claims that lives are being put at risk as incidents of dangerous driving on minor roads are going unreported.
