AS Tranent Gala Week draws near, tickets for the town’s annual celebrations go on sale from Monday.

Organisers have lined up a range of activities for the June 1 gala day, held on Ross High School’s playing fields.

The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be a performance by world-famous stunt riders, The X-Treme Motorcycle Stunt Trials Display Team, said gala chairman Tom Logan.

Tickets are available from Monday to Friday (May 15) at Tranent Day Centre.

From May 20, they can be purchased at the ELVON office, at Civic Square.

Said Mr Logan: “Tranent Gala Day is one of the biggest in East Lothian. And we hope everyone takes advantage of this great day and all we have to offer.”

The latest fundraiser in aid of gala week is on Thursday (May 15) – The Penny Lane Beatles Tribute Band will perform at the Loch Centre, at 7pm.

Tickets, priced at £6, can be purchased from Recycling First, unit 12A Macmerry Industrial Estate or Tranent Day Centre.
