TWO Musselburgh stalwarts were to share the honours at this year’s Citizen of the Year ceremony.

Long-serving junior choir leader at Musselburgh Congregational Church, Jane Fairnie, 62, and leading light behind the successful bid for a High Street war memorial, Ruth Knight, 70, were to jointly accept the accolade on Wednesday at the Brunton Hall.

Musselburgh and Inveresk Community Council chairwoman, Irene Tait, said: “These two are both very deserving recipients.”
