Coastal concerns
A PRESTONPANS community councillor is to contact East Lothian Council about the extent of erosion and debris on the town’s shoreline.
Margaret Kay said that she had been waiting for the March high tides to pass before asking an official from the local authority to meet her to discuss the problems. The area affected is between the sailing club to the east of Prestonpans and the town’s war memorial.
She said: “I don’t want to say too much at the moment until I have spoken to the relevant person at the council. I have just walked the coast and the debris brought in by the strong high tides is pretty bad.
“There are things like plastic fishing trays and pallets lying around. They must be coming from somewhere.”
