Record-breaking party
SLEIGH BELL committee members and children are pictured handing over a bumper cheque to Ms Harrison
A CHARITY Christmas party in Haddington has raised a record sum of £6,178 for Edinburgh’s Sick Kids’ Hospital.
More than 120 local children aged three to seven years packed in to the Maitlandfield House Hotel to enjoy the Sleigh Bell Party in December.
Susie Canmeron, one of the organising Sleigh Bell Committee, said this week: “The children all had a wonderful time with the arrival of Santa and Rudolph being the highlight.
“This year (2007) was an exceptional year as we raised a record-breaking £6178.47 through the support and generosity of friends and family and many local businesses. We are all so grateful to all our supporters.”
The cheque was recently handed over to the charity.
Maureen Harrison, director of the Sick Kids’ Friends Foundation, said: “The Sleigh Bell Party support for our work means a great deal to us and we are extremely grateful to everyone who attends the party, takes part in the organisation and donates towards the hugely successful fundraising effort.
“I would like to thank you for helping to make the Sick Kids even better.”
