Village hopes blossom
THE village of East Linton has made it into the final of the regional Beautiful Scotland in Bloom competition.
Towns and villages across Britian are currently undergoing make-overs with flowers and decorative, eye-catching greenery to give them a nice, crisp summer look.
And judges were very impressed by the transformation East Linton has undergone since it was last judged five years ago.
Organiser David Affleck was delighted at the good news, saying: “We were told late on Sunday evening that we had made it into the final, which is great news for the village.
“One of the judges who judges East Linton five years ago for the competition said he couldn’t believe the change in the village since then so it’s a testament to everyone’s hard work that we’ve made it through.”
The final round of judging for East Litnton will take place on Tuesday, August 1.
