Arriving from Macau, as you approach Beijing from the air, the first thing you notice are the hundred's literally hundreds of banners and posters, strewn along each side of the Motorways, all red and white all proclaiming the start of the Paralympics tomorrow!!

I have spent close on 6 days now in Macau, at the Westin Hotel, the site of The Paralympic Training Camp, and tomorrow, at last I transfer to Beijing and the Olympic Village

The Paralympic Lion Roars once more!
After being selected to represent Great Britain as a Staff coach at this years Paralympics in Beijing, Former professional Sprinter Eddie McKenna starts his journey to China. In Macau he will meet up with the rest of the team, including Neil Fachie of Aberdeen a visually impaired Sprinter whom Eddie has been coaching for over two years for this very event, before the team relocate to the Olympic Village in early September to await the Opening Ceremony on the 6th Sept, and the games. In Track and feild, Team GB is expected to do well, better than their non disabled counterparts in last months Olympics

Being Human gets a full series
The nature of my job is such that I get a lot of press releases through every day. Depressingly most of them are dross. There are a shocking number that are misspelled, misaddressed (no, I'm not a man, or the Editor), or downright misguided (why would I care that it's national Alfalfa Sprout week?). Of course there are useful press releases that come through - well written ones that make your job easier but, alas, they are the minority.

If this is what Being Human means then I'm happy with that!
We live in the digital TV age. But it's not as shiny and wonderous as it sounds. Think less Jetson's futuristic wonder, more Lily Allen being given a chance to make a show about her Myspace mates despite the fact she has all the TV presenting charisma of Gordon the Gopher. And Lenny Henry spinning entire series out of all those viral You Tube videos you've been sent about a year ago and weren't actually that funny to start with. And -- ok, I'm starting to rant.

Valentine's Day is rubbish. Fact. While I love the idea of romantic gestures - even with my cynical exterior I'm a big sap underneath it all - the idea that there is one day of the year when you have to pay over the odds to go out and eat overpriced food sat elbow to elbow with dozens of other grumpy looking people doing the same leaves me cold. Cold.
