Tranent’s late collapse loses three goal lead
Musselburgh Athletic had to be content with a 2-2 draw away to 10-man Newtongrange Star in their vital Premier League clash last Saturday – their promotion ambitions appear to be fading as a consequence. In the South Division, Haddington Athletic recorded a vital win against fellow title challengers Harthill Royal at Millfield. Dunbar United now sit just behind the Hi Hi in the table, courtesy of a narrow victory at Broxburn. Tranent Juniors looked on course for a comfortable victory at home to Stoneyburn Juniors, but an incredible late collapse allowed the visitors to claim their first point of the season. Musselburgh are back at Olive Bank tomorrow (Saturday) for a St Michael’s Cup tie against Bo’ness United. There’s a South Division derby at Millfield where Haddington entertain Tranent Juniors. Harthill Royal are the visitors to Dunbar.
