DICKINSON (Dunbar/Lasswade) Alan died very peacefully on 27th September 2017, aged 87 years, with his family around him. A lifelong scientist, socialist and gardener, he will be greatly missed. A simple Quaker funeral is arranged for 11am, Tuesday 10th October in Belhaven Parish Church Hall, Dunbar, followed by a memorial gathering to honour his life and work in the Eric Liddell Centre, Edinburgh EH10 4DP, after which refreshments will be served. Friends are welcome at either event. Sombre attire unnecessary.
